England Students enjoyed a comfortable win over their Welsh counterparts 48-0 at Warwick University today, scoring 8 tries in the process. There were touch down’s for Gloucester’s Steph Carlyon, Liverpool’s Leanna Plunkett, Manchester’s Jo McGilchrist, UWIC’s Helen Amos, Marjons’ Susannah Kendall and Antonia Perrott of Nottingham as well as a brace for replacement Heather Fisher, also of UWIC. Nancy Stone of Gloucester added four conversions.
Commenting on the win Head Coach Mark Tomlinson said:
“We are really pleased with the result and the performance. There are still things we can work on and we didn’t get it right all of the time, but at the moment it just goes to show how much strength in depth we have in student rugby in this country. All 22 players contributed and played their part in the win. We are now looking forward to our next game.”
The Students next game is against south Africa in May.
