MIKE TINDALL has been ruled out of England's final RBS 6 Nations match against Wales at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday (5.30pm).

The Gloucester Rugby centre was admitted to hospital in London on Sunday evening with a suspected infection of his left knee and underwent an athroscopic wash-out. He will remain in hospital for the next few days and will not be available for selection.

England Head Coach Brian Ashton said: "It's unfortunate for Mike and England because I felt he played a key part in our success yesterday and I hope he makes a swift recovery."

Toby Flood (Newcastle Falcons), who suffed a right dead-leg during the victory over France, is making progress and will be available to train later in the week.

Mike Catt's left hamstring is being treated and assessed by the England medical team and it is anticipated that the London Irish centre will be available to train later in the week.

Phil Vickery (London Wasps) has not fully recovered from the concussion suffered against Bristol Rugby eight days ago and will not be available for selection this weekend.

Andy Farrell will not join up witth the squad but remain with Saracens to continue the rehabilitation of his lower back while a decision on Jonny Wilkinson's (Newcastle Falcons) availability following his right hamstring strain will not be made until tomorrow.
