England and London Irish back, Shane Geraghty has returned to his club today for further investigation and assessment for the left knee injury he sustained against Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership on Sunday.

Following a clinical assessment by the England medical team on Sunday night and Monday morning it was clear that Shane could not be considered for the RBS 6 Nations game against France on Saturday. 

Shane will have an MRI scan this afternoon and a further update will be issued in due course.
 
All members of the England squad are being medically assessed and rehabilitated or conditioned as appropriate.
