Two late additions to the squad will be making their England Students debuts at Twickenham on Saturday (12pm).
Loughborough’s Jamie Hood and Mike Coady both start against the Combined Services Under 23 side in the curtain-raiser to the annual Babcock Trophy contest between the Army and the Royal Navy.
Hood takes over at scrum half from Toby Henry, who broke a leg in training at the start of the week, while Coady replaces Scott Armstrong on the wing after the latter was recalled by Guinness Premiership side Leeds Carnegie.
Three more uncapped players are on the bench – Imperial Medicals prop Ed Pickles, Oxford Brookes scrum half Chris Rowley and Loughborough centre Patrick Dias.
Last year the England Universities side – making their final appearance before the merger of Students and Universities representative teams – beat the Combined Services 37-6.
Students’ captain Phil Ellis, Chris Ashwin and Jonathan Moyce are the three survivors from the game.
