Saxons prop Wilson gets senior call up

Wilson rewarded with England call up photo by Jose Lagman June 16, 2008 England Saxons prop David Wilson will celebrate Saturday's Barclays Churchill Cup victory over Ireland A with a call up to the senior squad. The Newcastle Falcons prop arrives in New Zealand today in place of Andy Sheridan, who received a eye injury in the first Test and has been ruled out for next weekend's rematch. Said Wilson, "My immediate thoughts are with Andrew but I’m pleased to hear that his recovery is expected to be a relatively quick one. “I knew England Saxons was a possible stepping stone for me but I didn’t expect the call up to come quite so soon! “I’m disappointed to be leaving the Saxons, having helped them to get there I was really looking forward to playing in the Barclays Churchill Cup final, but obviously this is a huge honour and not something I could say no to.
