Back suspended for four weeks

20 May 2005
Neil Back was handed a four-week ban for striking an opponent at an RFU disciplinary hearing on Thursday night.

The Leicester flanker was charged after the Premiership Citing Officer reviewed video footage of the Zurich Premiership Final between Leicester and London Wasps at Twickenham on May 14.

Back pleaded guilty to the charge and was suspended from May 18 to June 14 and can play again on June 15. He is also liable for costs of £250.

The case was heard by an RFU panel of His Honour Judge Jeff Blackett, Peter Budge and Jeff Probyn at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn.
