Three Midlands players have again been named in the England Under-16 senior squad for a training session in Weston-super-Mare from March 17 to 19.
Scrum-half Oliver Frost (Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School and North Midlands), winger Will Hurrell (Loughborough GS and Leicestershire) and lock Graham Kitchener (Adams GS and North Midlands) took part in a training camp at Castlecroft in Wolverhampton last weekend.
They are now preparing for internationals against Italy and Wales, home and away, in April. The next training session at Weston-super-Mare RFC will include a game against the Bath Academy Under-17 side at Bath University on Sunday March 19 (11.30am).
Seven more Midlands players have been named in the England Under-16 A squad and six in the England Under-16 B squad for training at RAF Cosford in Shropshire from March 24 to 26.
Full-back Ricky Aley (King Edward VII Upper School and Leicestershire), hooker Sam Collins (Kineton HS and Warwickshire), centre Oliver Grove (Rugby School and Warwickshire), centre Jonathan Kennedy, the son of Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy, (Uppingham School and Leicestershire), winger Nathaniel Lowers (Carlton le Willows School and NL&D), flanker Daniel Willis (Old Swinford Hospital School and North Midlands) and number eight Luke Yarranton (Bishop of Hereford Bluecoat School and North Midlands) will be preparing for the Millfield Festival in Somerset in April and an international against Wales at Clifton on April 21.
The England B team will also compete in the Millfield Festival in Somerset between April 10 and 16 along with France, Georgia, Scotland, Wales and Canada.
The England Under-16 B squad of 28 includes the following Midlands players: fly-half Richard Clancy (Trent College and Leicestershire), lock Mark Deaville (St Joseph's College, Stoke and Staffordshire), scrum-half Sam Harrison (John Cleveland College and Leicestershire), hooker Sam Lewis (Ellesmere College and North Midlands), fly-half Luke Massey (King Edward VI School, Lichfield and Staffordshire) and full-back Louis Stelling (Old Swinford Hospital School and North Midlands).
