Joe Ford and Jon Kennedy, two sons of famous fathers, have been included in the final England Under-18 squad for this season’s AER (Association of European Rugby) Tournament in Treviso, Italy next month.

Fly-half Ford (Rishworth School and Yorkshire) is the son of England assistant coach Mike and winger Kennedy (Sale Sharks) is the son of Brian, the owner of the Guinness Premiership club.

Ford’s younger brother George, also a fly-half from Rishworth School, has been included in this season’s England Under-16 development squad.

Both Ford and Kennedy secured their places in the final squad of 26 after a training match against the Worcester Warriors at Bromsgrove School last weekend.

England will have a further training weekend at Solihull School from February 22 to 24 which will include a training match against the Northampton Saints Academy on the final day.

England will then play a warm up for the AER tournament against Scotland at Melrose on March 2 (12 noon).

Georgia will be England’s first opponents in Italy on March 16. England’s subsequent opponents will be determined by the outcome of their first game.
