Woodward supports Help for Heroes

September 4, 2008

Director of Elite Performance for the British Olympic Association (BOA), Sir Clive Woodward today gave his support to the Help for Heroes match to be played at Twickenham Stadium on September 20, kick off 2.30pm.

The aim of the game is to raise funds for the rehabilitation of injured service personnel who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The former RWC 2003 winning Head Coach said, "I will be attending the Help for Heroes match on September 20th with my wife Jayne. It's a day I'm really looking forward to and I hope as big a crowd as possible turn up to support such a great cause and raise as much money as possible for our injured service personnel.

"I've returned from Beijing where the Great Britain team won a huge number of medals and arrived back to a heroes welcome. They and I would be the first to admit however that the real heroes are the ones that serve in Iraq and Afghanistan and areas of conflict around the world. My thoughts are with them and I look forward to meeting members of the armed forces at the game."
