9 tries and 6 conversions by England’s U21s in their match just outside of Naples, sealed the fate of their Italian counterparts. All 6 conversions by Adrian Jarvis of NEC Harlequins were all the more impressive as this was his first U21 cap. Special mention too for prop David Wilson of Newcastle Falcons and a member of the Junior National Academy, who joins the U21 side for his first cap despite also being in the U19 squad. 

Peter Drewett, the Under 21 manager was greatly encouraged by such a resounding victory. 

“This performance showed a high level of understanding and execution. The strength lay in the support play and continuity. It was a good start for us, knowing we have a difficult test against a good Scottish U21 side next week. “ 

“Jarvis can be pleased with his first U21 cap today and I thought the work rate in the back row area of Ben Skirving, Will Skinner, Magnus Lund and Ben Russell was impressive. And Marcel Garvey’s finishing at wing was particularly effective.”
