Corry banned for two weeks

Leicester Tigers back-row forward Martin Corry received a two weeks suspension when he appeared before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel in Coventry last night.

Corry admitted stamping on an opponents body recklessly during the Zurich Premiership game against Bath at Welford Road earlier this month.

The charges were initiated by Peter Larter, the nominated Premiership Citing Officer for the match.

Corry suspension runs from October 20 to November 2. He will be free to resume playing on November 3. Corry was also ordered to pay £250 costs.

The disciplinary panel was chaired by Richard Moon, the RFU Council member for Cambridge University and it also included John Loughton and Christopher Quinlan. The hearing was held at the Coventry M6 Holiday Inn Hotel.
