Saracens vs Leeds Tykes Team News

9th September 2005
Issued on behalf of Saracens
Saracens face Leeds Tykes on Sunday as the club begins its 2005/06 GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP campaign at Vicarage Road - kick off 3pm.

Shane Byrne and Alan Dickens are set to make their home debuts for the Men In Black and Tevita Vaikona could also be back in contention. Taine Randell is back in the frame after being at the birth of his son last weekend with Kyran Bracken also fighting for a spot.

Although having named an initial 22, late fitness tests mean a final decision on the starting line-up will be made on Saturday.

"It was a very competitive game against Wasps last weekend, but we just lacked a bit of composure in certain areas," explained Director of Rugby Steve Diamond. "Like us, Leeds suffered a defeat at Twickenham and both teams will be going into the game looking to put that right.

"Leeds are a very competitive side and showed at the end of last season that they are prepared to fight right to the death. Following the first round of Premiership matches, it's clear there are going to be no easy games and we must be at our best each week." 15 Dan Scarbrough 14 Richard Haughton 13 Thomas Castaignede 12 Kevin Sorrell 11 Tevita Vaikona 10 Glen Jackson 9 Alan Dickens
