Gloucester Injury Update on James Simpson-Daniel

19 Septemebr 2005
JAMES SIMPSON-DANIEL is hopeful he can shake off his ankle injury in time to face Northampton on Saturday (Kingsholm 2.45pm).

The England winger has not featured in Gloucester’s three Guinness Premiership matches so far, but believes he is close to regaining full match fitness again.

Simpson-Daniel damaged his ankle against Calvisano during pre-season and has undergone intensive physiotherapy since. He told www.gloucesterrugby.co.uk. “I am pretty sure I should be fit for this weekend against Northampton.

“Whether I am selected or not is another matter, but I hope to be fit. It has been pretty sore but it is getting better all the time.

“I had a really good running session last week. I will rest up and take things from there this week.”

Northampton will bring former All Black star Carlos Spencer with them and Gloucester have only 200 tickets remaining in the Buildbase Stand for the clash.

Northampton have returned 347 tickets from their allocation of 500 but the remaining tickets are for the Shed and terracing.

Tickets purchased before Thursday receive a £2 discount under the early purchase scheme.

Gloucester are also selling tickets for the visit of the Ospreys in the Powergen Cup on October 1. They have been released to all supporters and there plenty left in the main grandstand.
