6 January 2005 Worcester Warriors winger Aisea Havili and Bristol number eight Dan Ward-Smith have both been charged with alleged foul play following matches in the Guinness Premiership last weekend.
Havili has been charged with making a dangerous tackle, contrary to Law 10 (4) (e), on Dave Walder of Newcastle Falcons in the match at Kingston Park on New Year’s Day.
Ward-Smith has also been charged with making a dangerous tackle, contrary to Law 10 (4) (e) on Daniel Browne of Northampton Saints during the game at Franklin’s Gardens on New Year’s Day.
Both Havili and Ward-Smith were charged after reports from the nominated citing officers.
Havili will appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel at the London Bloomsbury Holiday Inn Hotel on Monday January 9 (6.30pm). The panel will be chaired by Jeff Blackett, the RFU’s disciplinary officer.
Ward-Smith has been summoned to appear before a Rugby Football Union disciplinary panel at the Coventry M6 Holiday Inn Hotel on Tuesday January 17 (7pm). The composition of the panel has yet to be determined.
