Tom Rees was confirmed as the Land Rover Discovery of the Season, with back row colleague James Haskell in second place and centre Dominic Waldouck in third.
The selection for this award was the hardest decision for the panel, with the judges variously describing it as "sensationally difficult" and "tougher than the main award".
Phil Winstanley added, "At one stage I think we had a three way tie for this award. In the end, the panel felt in Tom Rees we had a player who had moved on from being a support player in his club squad, to be first choice with his club and an England international.
Whilst the other nominees had performed exceptionally well, the panel felt Tom had done so more consistently throughout the season."
Pat Howard of Leicester Tigers was rewarded for his team's success in reaching the final of all three tournaments with the award of the O2 Director of Rugby of the Season.
Having already won the EDF Energy Cup, Howard takes his side to Twickenham on successive weekends to play firstly Gloucester Rugby and then London Wasps in an effort to achieve an unprecedented treble.
The panel also commended Richard Hill for his work in taking Bristol Rugby into the top four of the Guinness Premiership and Gloucester Rugby's Dean Ryan for finishing the league season in first place with a squad of exciting young English players.
They also commended Alan Gaffney for establishing Saracens as serious title challengers after several seasons outside the top four.
