Lesley Vainikolo set the Guinness Premiership alight on his debut for Gloucester at Headingley against Leeds Carnegie on their return to the Premiership.
The home side were actually in front at half time 19-18 but four second half tries from Vainikolo changed the game and gave the visitors a comfortable 49-24 win in front of a bumper 10,000 plus crwod.
The 28 year old former Bradford Bulls winger who had a sensational try scoring record in Rugby League carried that across to Union on his debut. In the Rugby League career he scored 149 tries in 152 games nearly a try a match with his last coming at Headingley for the Bulls against Leeds Rhinos.
He moves into joint second on the all time list along with Kenny Logan and one behind the all time record holder Ryan Constable who scored six for Sarries against Bedford back in 2000.
He also broke the Gloucester record of four in a match set by Elton Moncreiff back in
May 2000.
