Rotherham Titans team news for Falcons Trip

Titans winger Jason Keyter is back in training this week after returning from the World Cup in Australia. Keyter was a member of the USA Eagles squad who were eliminated from the tournament at the group stage.

Keyter admitted that whilst he enjoyed playing in the tournament, it was frustrating that he could do nothing but watch as the Titans struggled to find their feet in the opening games of the season. He said: "I've missed the place, I’ve not enjoyed watching us lose our first few games. I think I can offer a few new ideas and a fresh attitude. Everyone seems to be ticking over pretty well and the attitudes around the club are good.”

Jason met new coach Steph Nel for the first time this week and was impressed with the work that the South African was doing at the club.

Keyter told www.titansrugby.co.uk : "I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about Steph, he’s got a good style, he’s very knowledgeable and I think he will add some dynamism to the squad."

Despite his recent absence, Keyter is well aware of the size of the task now facing the Titans and is keen to help the side get into winning ways, starting with the game at Newcastle on Sunday:

"I haven’t really looked at the numbers but we have to start this weekend by getting a win. It’s a winnable game at Newcastle. We need to get as many points as we can, we can’t afford to lose any more games which we should’ve won. Every single point is important."

Jason provided positive news for the coaching team this week when he declared himself injury free and available for selection.

“I’m ready to go, I’ve been back for a few days now and I think I’m over my jet lag.”
