Rotherham may well have missed their best chance of getting a league win after the 34-20 reversal at home to Leeds on Friday night, but winger Anthony Elliott believes the lack of expectancy can only be positive for the Titans:
'People have written us off really which is in our favour, we will give it 100% to get a win in these three games against 'Quins, Leicester and Newcastle.
There's a lot of emphasis on Jonny Wilkinson playing and I hope he does. I hope they put out a full-strength team because we will too at that point and we'll go into that game standing a chance. It'll be a nice finish.'
Anthony Elliott was forced to leave the action early against Leeds after aggrevating an injury that he picked up in the previous game against Wasps:
'I damaged my hip-flexor the week before at Wasps. I probably shouldn't have started but I thought I'd give it a go but I had to come off after half an hour.
'We didn't play badly but we made the individual mistakes that have been the story of the season really. If you look at the squad and how we play, we're not that far behind. If we cut out the mistakes we'd compete with the best of them.'
Elliott is yet to make a decision about his plans for next season but will listen to any offer that Rotherham put on the table:
'Like any club at this time of season, there's going to be people leaving and people coming in. There's a lot of uncertainty about who's going and who's staying but it will all be a lot clearer in couple of weeks. I'm not one to just up and go. I've been playing professionally for five years and this is only my second club so i'd like to stay but we'll see what's available.' |
