Hearing & Seeing Your Referee's

£1010 will allow you to both see and hear your referee

The Referees department can now offer societies who wish to purchase camera and radio mikes assistance in making these purchases.

Referee coaches at National Level have this year been given radio mikes to allow them to listen to their respective referee and also the Panel Development Manager and the Video Analyst have regularly filmed referees who are also wired up to assist in their development. The development advantages of both being able to see and hear the referee are numerous and suits referees of all ability and levels.

The same equipment is now available to Societies in order that they can also development referees by filming them but at the same time hearing what they are saying. A number of societies (10 so far) have bought the same equipment via the referees department and are regularly using it to development their own referees.

The equipment consists of :-

1.      A digital camera with  zoom

2.      A tripod

3.      An additional long life battery giving 6 hours recording

4.      A recharger for the battery

5.      A set of radio mikes

6.      Leads to allow playback on a VCR

7.      USB leads for transfer to a computer.

The cost of this package is £1010 when purchased via the Referee Department as this allows societies to take advantage of the discounts that can be arranged for bulk buying. There is no profit element in this for the Referees Department.

The advantages of being able to both hear and film referees for development is widely accepted as the best way forward for all level of referees. Panel members have benefited from this development tool and certainly the same has been true of Federations and Societies who have taken advantage of the offer so far.
