England made a solid start to the final leg of the IRB World Sevens series by beating Georgia 24-0 at Murrayfield this morning.
Newbury flanker Isao Damudamu grabbed the first try in the Pool D game as Ben Ryan’s side led 5-0 at the break.
And England stepped up a gear after the interval with NEC Harlequins full-back Charlie Amesbury and scrum-half Danny Care adding further tries before Exeter Chiefes flanker Tony Roques touched down the fourth. Care added two conversions.
Head coach Ryan said: “It was a good solid start for us and we did the basics well.”
England, though, have a tough group to negotiate and face Argentina and IRB London Sevens winners New Zealand later today.
