Barrett and Tombleson get England call up

Kevin Barrett (Exeter Chiefs) and Tom Tombleson (Newbury) have been called up to the England Sevens squad ahead of this weekend's IRB USA Sevens.

Barrett has been called out to replace Harlequins scrum half Danny Care, Danny has been called up to the bench for the Saxons match against Italy on Saturday and Tombleson will replace centre Ayoola Erinle (Leicester Tigers).

Said Coach Ben Ryan, “Kevin Barrett will come in for Care. Kevin is a real live wire with England Student and England Sevens experience so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do.

"And Tom for Erinle. It will be hard for Tom as this will be his debut for England Sevens and he flies in just in time for the captains run the day before the tournament but he's young and keen and I'm sure he will benefit from his sevens experience.”
