Seven questions for Ben Youngs

RFU.com catches up with Ben Youngs (Leicester Tigers) to find out a little more about the 18-year-old ahead of his debut for England Sevens at the world famous Cathay Pacific/Credit Suisse Hong Kong Sevens which takes place on the 28-30 March.

Do you have any pre match rituals?

I always put my right boot on first, I don’t know why but it’s just become a habit and I don’t want to change it just in case it brings me bad luck!

What would you be doing if you weren’t playing rugby?

I would still be at school probably in sixth form or travelling.

Eating out or cinema?

Cinema as you don’t have to make much of an effort and you get to eat popcorn!

What is the most interesting city/place you have visited?

It would have to be Hong Kong, it’s such a fast paced city with lots to see and do I love the hustle and bustle.

Who is the most interesting person you have met and why?

It would have to be Bruce Lockhart because he makes me laugh every time I see him. He’s one of my Dad’s friends, they met when they were both playing rugby, Bruce played for Scotland and my Dad for England.

What was the last film you watched?

It wasn’t really a film, it was a box set of Prison Break Season 2 – I love that show!

Who would you most like to meet?

Tom Hanks, I think he’s a great actor. I admire his work and I love every film he has made, he also looks like he would be a laugh on a night out.
