NATIONAL THREE NORTH
COACH of the MONTH
Phil Lancaster & Craig Lee - Darlington
The Darlington pair of Phil Lancaster (Forwards Coach) and Craig Lee (Player/backs Coach) pick up the NCA Coaching award for March as Darlington secure their status in the National Leagues for a third season. They have worked as a partnership for the past five years very successfully lifting us through North One and into the National Leagues where we have now established a third year.
In March they won all three of their matches they started off with home wins over Dudley Kingswinford and Bedford Athletic and then travelled to local rivals Blaydon, who had thumped them at Blackwell Meadows earlier in the season, and won 26-7.
PLAYER of the MONTH
Craig Emmerson – Halifax
Halifax centre Craig Emmerson takes the NCA Player of the month award for March as Halifax secure the National Three North title.
Craig Emmerson began his career with Halifax and played for Halifax Colts, during which time he played for Yorkshire U21s and Yorkshire Colts. He subsequently played for England Colts.
Craig also played for the North of England Senior side on their tour to Italy.
Leaving Halifax, Craig was signed by Harlequins RFC, where he spent one season, as understudy for Will Carling. He then moved to West Hartlepool, before returning to Yorkshire where he joined Morley.
Two seasons were then spent at Gloucester before he joined Leeds Tykes. After 5 seasons at Headingley, he rejoined Halifax where he has also been responsible for Coaching the Backs.
Craig is a very experienced player who reads the game well. He has been a significant contributor to Halifax's success over the past two seasons, and this award is not only overdue for the consistency of his performances, but it is richly deserved says club spokesman Mike Smith.

KICKER of the MONTH
Glen Bond – Rugby Lions
Paul Green wins N3(N) Kicker of the Month award for February
Glen Bond, Rugby Lions, picked up the NCA Kicker of the Month award in National Three (North) for March with a strike rate of 78.57%.
Glenn joined the Lions in December from local side Broadstreet and has scored 77 points in 13 matches since his debut against Bedford Athletic.
