Champions Barking finished off the season with yet another win in front of a bumper crowd at Gorsebrook.
Combe went ahead in the 9th minute with a try from wing Sam Greenaway and Sam Barnett converted it for 7-0.
No 8 Paul Everitt got the home side back into it with a try three minutes later and Ben Montgomery converted.
Four minutes later and the home side were ahead with a Montgomery penalty goal but that was the end of the scoring in the first half with the home side 10-7 ahead.
In the second half Montgomery added an early penalty goal but two tries before the hour mark saw the home side pull away at 23-7 with Casey Mee and Montgomery touching down. .
Combe got a second try on 67 minutes with Greenaway completing a double.
In the final 10 minutes Barking ran in a couple of tries to wrap up the win and record win number 24 for the season.

Haywards Heath 30 (Tries: Mafi 3, Cook. Cons: Ashton 2. Pens: Ashton 2.)
Bottom of the table Haywards Heath picked up just their third win of the season with this away success at Dings Crusaders.
Filine Mafi got the visitors off to a great start with a try in the 5th minute which was cancelled out two minutes later by Dings wing Sylvan Edwards. Owen Ashton then put the visitors back in front with a penalty goal before Edwards put Dings ahead with another try his 17th of the season. With a couple of minutes left the visitors went back in front with Mafi getting a second try and Ashton converting for 15-10.
A minute into the second half and Ashton extended the Haywards Heath lead with a second penalty goal and then in the 54th minute Mafi completed his hat trick and they were 23-10 ahead.
Dings came back through and were level on 70 minutes after tries form second row David Bufton and hooker Paul Fincken and a Dan Quartley penalty goal. Three minutes later and Quartley slotted over a second penalty goal and they were ahead 26-23.
The visitors snatched the win on 77 minutes with replacement Josh Reynolds touching down and Ashton converted.
Havant 37 (Tries: McGovern 2, Avery, Grunow, Cruddas. Cons: Claffey 4. Pens: Claffey 2.)
Southend 26 (Tries: Du Toit, C Green, Bailey, Gates. Cons: B Green 3.)
Havant remain in seventh place after this home win over Southend at Hooks Lane.
Havant were quick of the mark and went 10-0 ahead in the opening nine minutes with Sid Claffey slotting over a penalty goal and then converting a try from centre Neil McGovern Two minutes later Jaco Du Toit got the visitors off the mark two minutes later with a try and Ben Green converted it.
Claffey slotted over a penalty goal on 14 minutes before wing Cam Avery went in for his 23rd try of the season and with Claffey converting they were 20-7 ahead at the break.
Two early tries in the second half saw the home side go into a winning position with centre McGovern getting a second try and left wing Matt Grunow getting the other as the home side went 30-7 ahead.
Southend did manage to score three tries in the rest of the match but with Havant also getting a fifth try they were never really threatened.
North Walsham 26 (Tries: Taplin, Roussouw, Godwin, Smeeth. Cons: Wyatt 3.)
Old Patesians 18 (Tries: Foxwell, Nock. Con: Nunn. Pens: Nunn 2.)
North Walsham finally ended their nightmare losing run of six games with this home success over Old Patesians and in the process reclaimed third place. .
Early on they must have thought here we go again as Old Patesians went 10-0 ahead, centre David Foxwell touched down and Russell Nunn converted and Nunn then kicked a penalty goal in the fifth minute.
North Walsham got back in the game when flanker Luke Taplin went over the Old Pats line and Jonny Wyatt converted. Nunn then kicked a second penalty goal for the visitors to lead 13-7 at the break.
Five minutes into the second half and the home side were ahead with hooker Gideon Rossouw touching down and Wyatt again converted for 14-13.
In the 55th minute fly half Robert Nock went over for a try and Old Pats were in the lead again at 18-14.
Late in the match the home side scored twice to take all five points with wingers Chris Godwin and Ted Smeeth touching down.
Reading 50 (Tries: Johnson 4, Murdoch, Stead. Cons: Chandler 4. Pens: Chandler 3. DG: Wallace.)
Lydney 28 (Tries: Vine 2, Macrea, Beechey. Con: Westall. Pens: Westall 2.)
Great win for Reading who remain in sixth place whilst Lydney drop a place to fourth with North Walsham overtaking them on most wins.
Reading made a great start and were 14-0 ahead after eight minutes with tries form wing David Murdoch and No 8 Tom Johnson and Spike Chandler converted both. Lydney responded well and full back Adam Westall slotted over a penalty goal and then converted a try from wing Andy Macrea, his 19th of the season.
Chandler added a penalty before Johnson got his second try and Reading were 22-10 ahead. Westall kicked a penalty goal before Alex Wallace dropped a goal for the home side. In the 28th minute Johnson completed a hat trick of tries but before the break Lydney pulled five points back with their other wing Tom Beechey touching down but were trailing 32-18.
In the second half Johnson carried on his try scoring exploits with try number four before Chandler landed a couple of penalty goals and then Ed Stead, normally a hooker, playing on the flank got the sixth home try and with Chandler converting they were 50-18 ahead after 64 minutes.
Lydney did manage to get two late scores with centre Charles Vine bagging a brace in the 75th and 78th minutes. .
Redruth 32 (Tries: Osula 2, Harper, Thirlby. Cons: Brown 3. Pen: Brown 2.)
Hertford 13 (Try: Reed. Con: Barella. Pens: Barella 2.)
Redruth prepared for the Play off match with a home win over form side Hertford winning comfortable.
Right wing Oscar Osula bagged a brace of tries in the opening half hour on his full debut as the home side opened up a 15-7 lead. In between Osula’s brace scrum half Matthew Reed touched down for the visitors and Neil Barella added the conversion.
Before the break Bede Brown kicked a second penalty goal for the home side to ad to his conversion to lead 18-7.
Barella closed the gap with a penalty goal before the home side extended their lead with hooker Mark Harper touching down for his 13th try of the season and with Brown converting they were 25-10 ahead.
Barella added another penalty before the home side wrapped up the win with a fourth try in the 75th minute form centre Paul Thirlby.
Tabard 21 (Tries: Colborne, Sloan. Con: Colborne. Pens: Colborne 3.)
Weston super Mare 22 (Tries: Burge 2, Coleman, Denbee. Con: Coleman.)
These two relegated sides were hoping to finish the season with a win and it went the way of the visitors as Weston took the honours with a narrow one point win.
Rob Colborne put Tabard ahead with a penalty goal in the 3rd minute but on 12 minutes Weston hooker David Burge went over for a try Colborne quickly restored the home side their lead with a second penalty goal. Burge though got a second try on 28 minutes to give the visitors a 10-6 lead.
Colborne kicked a third penalty goal and on 37 minutes gave the home side the lead with a try which he converted to go in 16-10 ahead.
On the hour mark fly half Neil Coleman went in for a try which he converted to give Weston the lead. Flanker Michael Denbee saw the visitors go further ahead with a try five minutes later.
In the 75th minute hooker Adrian Gates went in for a try which saw them close to within a point but Colborne could not add the conversion and Weston left with the win. |
