Scunthorpe continue their good recent form with this win over Dunstablians in a high scoring match.
They were ahead in the 4th minute with Mark Sherwood crossing the visitors line and Tim Robinson added the extras. Duns were level seven minutes later when centre Sam Alatini went over for a try, which he converted, and then four minutes later gave his side the lead with a penalty goal.
Ben Sherwood levelled on 17 minutes with a drop goal but the visitors took control with two tries in six minutes to open up a 22-10 lead as centre Richard Butler and wing David Bradshaw went over in the 20th and 26th minutes respectively. On 32 minutes the home side were back within a score with winger Tom Foster scoring and Robinson converting.
But before half time Alatini slotted over a penalty for a two score lead again at the break.
In the second half winger Mark Sherwood grabbed a second try seven minutes in and in the 54th minute they edged ahead when No 8 Dave Garbutt went over.
Two minutes later and the visitors were ahead again with Alatini kicking a penalty goal. The lead lasted a minute with full back Robinson going over for a try and a 32-28 lead.
The action continued with second row Damian Daize going over for Duns and they regained the lead as the match entered the final quarter at 33-32.
The winning try came in the 64th minute when replacement back Lewis Jones crossed the visitors try line as the frenetic scoring run came to an end.

Bedford Athletic came through to take the points and keep their promotion ambitions in tact.
They went ahead in the second minute when winger Matthew Aldwinckle went over and Ashley Tapper added the conversion for 7-0. By half time Broadstreet had reduced the Ath lead with Glen Bind slotting over a couple of penalty goals.
In the third quarter Bedford won the match with three tries as flanker Scott Rudkin, scrum half David Jenkins and No 8 Ross Thompson crossing the visitors line and Tapper getting just the on conversion for a 24-6 lead.
Alan Roberts got a try for the visitors and in the final minutes they got a third with replacement hooker Tim Harrison crossing the home line.
Spalding 13 (Tries: Irwin, Dunnett. Pen: Dunnett.)
Luctonians 10 (Tries: Buck, Garrod.)
Excellent win for Spalding who again show good end of season form with this success over Luctonians.
The home side went ahead on 20 minutes when scrum half Ryan Dunnett kicked a penalty goal and with half time approaching flanker Jamie Irwin went over for a try and the home side were 8-0 ahead after the opening 40 minutes.
Eight minutes into the second half and it was 13-0 with Dunnett crossing for a try.
The visitors finally got on the scoreboard in the 57th minute with No 8 Darren Brick going over for an unconverted try. 11 minutes later it was game on with Luctonians getting a second try through their prolific winger Andy Garrod.
That though was the end of the scoring and Spalding took the points.

Same match different result this week as Kettering get revenge for their loss at Walsall last Saturday.
Damian Whales got the home side off the mark on four minutes with a penalty goal but this was cancelled out two minutes later by Matthew Wood. Flanker Steve Freeman gave the home side the lead again on 20 minutes with the games opening try, which Whales, converted and in the 36th minute added a penalty goal for a 13-3 lead. Wood added a second penalty just before the break to keep Walsall within a score.
Two minutes into the second half and Kettering went further ahead with second row Martin Roberts going over for a try and Whales again converting. Walsall responded just three minutes later with hooker Jimmy Allen going over and although Wood failed to add the conversion he did kick a penalty to get Walsall within four points.
Kettering pulled clear with tries from centre Paul Gibson and Whales, which were both, converted by Whales and they were 34-16 ahead. Both sides scored tries in the final 10 minutes as Kettering took the points.
Old Laurentians 5 (Try: Inch.)
Whitchurch 52 (Tries: Appleby 3, Slater, Douglas, Canney, Stringer, Penalty try. Cons: Canney 6.)
Comfortable away win for Whitchurch running in eight tries against Old Laurentians.
It took them 17 minutes to break down the home defence with centre Rob Slater going over and John Canney adding the extras. The second came on 30 minutes with No 8 Andy Douglas scoring but Canney could not add the conversion, he did though get the third try on 37 minutes and slotted over the conversion for a 19-0 half time lead.
Two minutes into the second half and Whitchurch were awarded a penalty try before flanker Paul Appleby got on the scoreboard for the first of his three second half tries to take him onto 12 for the season.
The home side did cross the Whitchurch line when full back Grant Inch went over on 56 minutes but by then the visitors were 33-0 ahead and the game wrapped up.

Excellent draw for Luton over a Leicester Lions side that has seen a number of new faces introduced over the last few weeks.
The Lions were ahead in the second minute with a Jaco Barendse penalty goal. Luton were level on 17 minutes when Anthony Lintern kicked a penalty and it stayed that way till half time.
In the second half it was 30 minutes in before the score changed with winger James Black scoring a try for the Lions and Barendse added the extras. Luton though snatched a draw when Lintern went over in the 80th minute and added the conversion to tie the scores and earn Luton a point. |
