13 February 2008 Never been to sevens? Well, you are missing out. The annual Hong Kong sevens may be the most famous of the IRB Sevens tournaments but with crowds of over 30,000 Twickenham is rapidly catching up.
The Emirates Airline London Sevens is held at Twickenham on the second May Bank Holiday weekend. Two days of top international sevens and two days of partying in the summer sunshine.
Sevens is all about fast flowing rugby with plenty of tries from some of the quickest and most skilled players in the world. 16 nations will be playing including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Scotland as well as England so there is plenty to enjoy on the pitch. There is just as much action in the stands with non stop music, spot prizes and plenty of fancy dress to keep you entertained.
Saturday is pool stage day with all 16 teams taking to the pitch and aiming to top their pool. Sunday sees the competition step up a little as the tournament becomes knock out and every minute of the 14 minute games counts.
Tickets for this unmissable event at Twickenham are on sale now from ticketmaster.co.uk from just £10.
