A touring Canadian women’s side from St. Francis Xavier University, Nova Scotia, got a friendly welcome from the Telford Hornets on their recent tour to England. Although the game was won by the visitors 45-5, a combined Telford and Harper Adams University Women’s XV put on an excellent demonstration of skill and determination.

The coach of St Francis Xavier University, Mike Cavanaugh, also coaches the Nova Scotia men’s Senior Divisional squad. The Canadian side narrowly lost to a touring Welsh squad two years ago. Telford prop, Lucy Fisher, recently became the first woman coach at the club, when she completed her Youth level 2 Coaching award.
