Chocolate Batons

The Queen’s Jubilee baton relay, sponsored by Cadbury, made its way around the UK for a grand entrance at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

At Twickenham, the relay passed Rugby House to applause and support from RFU staff, as Pat Sanderson (NEC Harlequins) and Mike Friday (London Wasps), two members of the England 7s squad, ran with 22-year-old Simon Webb, a local blind athlete selected to compete in the 100m at the Commonwealth Games after winning the event in the British Blind Sports National Athletics Championships. Simon was thrilled to take part alongside Pat Sanderson because he is a big NEC Harlequins supporter.
