Twickenham hosts world summit

The International Rugby Summit held last month at Twickenham Stadium gave all involved in the business of rugby the opportunity to share ideas, discuss common issues and concerns and maximise investment and interest in the sport. The event brought together experts and specialists concerned with all aspects of the game, from player wellbeing to sponsorship and was attended by more than 200 delegates from both foundation unions and developing rugby nations.

At the two day conference hosted by the RFU key figures from throughout world rugby appeared including: John O’Neill (MD & CEO Australian RFU) who covered the Rugby World Cup 2003, Dan Harrington from Couchman Harrington Associates who covered sports rights Issues and renowned Sports Physician Dr John Best who addressed the hot topic of Player Burnout. Next year’s summit is being hosted by the Australian RFU and takes place during the 2003 RWC.
