More than 120 local residents attended the RFU’s senior citizens Christmas lunch held at Twickenham Stadium’s Rose Room, in the presence of the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Cllr Douglas Orchard.
The guests were invited from local amenity societies and residents’ groups, All Hallows Church and voluntary care organisations such as Age Concern Whitton, Homelink and Whitton Network. Seasonal entertainment was provided by Twickenham’s Salvation Army Band, Jack Honeyborne, former musical director for Dame Vera Lynn and local big band singer, Joy Rose.
Father Christmas, the RFU’s tour guide Les Evans, was the centre of attention at Age Concern’s Christmas party at the Whitton Social Centre in Kneller Road. More than 100 members enjoyed a fun time at the RFU sponsored event.
