Parker Pen Letter Of The Month

Dear Touchline

Can you imagine my surprise, when watching the Ireland v Italy game, my wife suddenly turned and said, “That man was in the room when I was having Jack!” - Jack being our eldest son who is nearly 9 years old!

I do remember a man talking to me about being a ref, but not really listening as I was preoccupied with my wife. She says that he was on a training course for his job as a paramedic, so I got on the internet and indeed Mr Tony Speadbury is from the Bristol area and was, indeed, a paramedic! And I thought she must have been joking when she said it!

As I mentioned, Jack, our son, is nearly 9 years of age and is now a very keen rugby player for Cleeve RFC in Bristol. He plays at prop and if ever Tony was in Bristol, I’d love for him to meet Jack. Could you please pass on this message in the hope that we may be able to contact him?

I do hope you’ll be able to help. I know it’s a bit of an odd request but imagine how I felt when she remembered him?

Cheers
Ian Gore
