Gilbert Golden Boot

The Gilbert Golden Boot Kicking Challenge, an RFU initiative aimed at raising the profile and quality of kicking among players aged 14-18, has seen former England full-back Simon Hodgkinson deliver kicking coaching at all the county competitions.

At the regional final at Loftus Road before the London Wasps v Sale Sharks Premiership fixture, those who qualified through county competitions in Middlesex, Essex, Cambridge, Suffolk and Hertfordshire displayed their skills. Involving a series of place kicks and punts, this contest was won by Peter Freeth of London Scottish RFC (pictured) who goes on to compete in the national final at the Investec Challenge England v Australia international. Peter, who lives in Twickenham, helped in the Touchline office on some work experience and even penned an excellent rugby article -
a true all rounder.
