E-day Decision Announced

An E-Day Task Group, chaired by Willie Wildash, Council member for Dorset & Wilts, has been set up to assist in planning the introduction of the process for the RFU and the game to communicate electronically.

One of the first recommendations of the task group was that E-Day 30th June 2004, an initiative which came out of the last Constituent Body Conference, should be defined as “the date on which the agreed policy should begin to be implemented.”

The updated definition appears on the countdown to E-Day on this page.

Touchline will continue in hard copy form up to and including the month of July and, in the same month, there will also be a reader friendly Touchline online. After this, Touchline will only be available online in a readable and downloadable format. Plans are in place to complement Touchline online with a single RFU e-zine which can be emailed to all club members via their clubs’ RFU web pages.

An information audit is being carried out and recommendations have been made seeking to ensure that the RFU website becomes a more efficient and effective communication portal for both RFU staff and volunteers throughout the game.
