Sharks sevens

Sale Sharks hosted their first ever sevens tournament for local clubs at the Carrington Training Ground on the morning of their Leeds Tykes fixture. Under 9s and Under 10s teams from clubs all over the North West competed for the MAOAM Sale Sharks 7s Cup in an enthralling competition.

Refereed in great spirit by Sale Jets Mark Simpson Daniel, Stu Coackley, Danny Greenhalgh, Steve Burns, Daniel Fernandez Arias, Adam Newton and Mike Hills, the local teams had great fun. After the heats, the tournament transferred to Edgeley Park for the finals, which were held on the pitch before the match. As the finals took place, the teams not involved paraded round the Edgeley Park turf showing their certificates.

The finals were a very tense affair, with both being decided by a single try.

Under 9s Final
Broughton Park 1 Wilmslow Wolves 0
Under 10s Final
Vale of Lune 1 Caldy 0
