Great Escape for serious injuries

The Saints rugby ground in Northampton, was the venue for the recent handover of a cheque for £1,805 to the East Midlands Serious Injuries Trust (95).This was the culmination of a big effort to raise funds for the Trust to support Steve Kenyon, who has been selected for the Great Britain wheelchair rugby squad, in his bid to compete in the next Paralympics.
The money was raised by Escape Fitness, a Peterborough based fitness equipment manufacturer and supplier at a 70s themed party held at Liberty’s nightclub in Birmingham. The hugely successful event drew a crowd of 650 people, all of whom were exhibiting at or visiting the Leisure Industry Week exhibition at the NEC.

Managing Director of Escape Fitness, Richard Januszek, said “ Steve has assisted us in gaining accreditation for items of equipment with the Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI). This is a programme set up to promote the development of fitness equipment that can be accessed by both disabled and non-disabled users. We are proud to be in a position to help him with his fund raising in this way”.

The cheque was presented by Richard Januszek and Julie Thompson, Business Development Manager of Escape with Budge Poutney, the Saints and Scotland captain in attendance.
