Twickenham plays host to the BUSA Rugby Final once again, with UWIC looking to repeat last year’s double victory. UWIC women were at the time of writing undefeated this year, whilst the men’s side was fighting for supremacy in the Southern Premier League with Bath and St Mary’s.
However, there is still everything to play for - the final is a culmination of six months of university league matches and knockout rounds, with 293 men’s teams and 94 women’s teams battling for their chance to play at the Home of England Rugby on Wednesday 28th April.
The successful squads will join an illustrious list of current England players who all competed in university finals: Kyran Bracken (Bristol), Richard Hill (Brunel WL), Martin Corry (Northumbria) and Will Greenwood (Durham).
The women’s final kicks off at 12.30pm, followed by the men’s final at 3pm. Match tickets are £5 (includes both games) and are available on the gates on the day. Entry for schools is free - please contact the BUSA Office on 020 7357 8555 or email claire@busa.org.uk to order your complimentary tickets.
2004 is also the 10th anniversary of the formation of BUSA and to celebrate the event, current and past university players are invited to a post-match celebration at The Stoop, home of NEC Harlequins. Starting at 7pm, there will be live music, a DJ and the usual assortment of fun and games. Tickets are now on sale from Aorta Events on 01923 443 774/ jonny@aortaevents.co.uk. Tickets are priced just £8 for a limited time only.
