Premier Rugby

Quadruple the fun for rugby fans

Rugby fans are in for a treat for the finale of the domestic season with both the Zurich Premiership Final and the Zurich Wildcard Final being staged on the same day at Twickenham.

The Zurich Premiership Final - to determine the English champions - will kick off at 6.00pm on Saturday 29th May with the Zurich Wildcard Final being staged at 3.30pm. And in addition to the leading English clubs battling it out at the home of England Rugby, the finals of the Tetley’s County Championship will be also played that day, offering fans a whole day of quality rugby action.

Last year’s Zurich Premiership Final saw the form team London Wasps upset league leaders Gloucester by claiming the Zurich Premiership Trophy in front of 44,000 fans. Competition for one of the coveted top three positions (to determine the finalists) is already hotting up and the race to the final promises to be as strong as ever.

In last year’s inaugural Zurich Wildcard Final, played at Franklins Gardens, Saracens were narrowly beaten in extra time by Leicester Tigers in one of the most exciting games of the domestic season. The top four premiership clubs who haven’t automatically qualified for the Heineken Cup by the end of the regular season on 8th May play off for a place in the Zurich Wildcard Final which awards the winner the final qualification spot.

The Tetley’s County Shield and Championship Finals are two of the most traditional events in the rugby calendar and offers promising young players the chance to play at Twickenham. Current champions Lancashire beat Gloucestershire 24-18 in last year’s final.

Tickets, priced at £32 and £26, with concessions half price, and covering all four matches, are available from Ticketmaster on 0870 902 0000 or online at www.ticketmaster.co.uk. More information about the Zurich Premiership Final and Zurich Wildcard Final can be found on the official Zurich Premiership website: www.zurichpremiership.com.
