Ticketing Review
The RFU Council last month discussed a report of a ticketing review group relating to the Zurich World Champions Challenge England v New Zealand Barbarians fixture played on 20th December, 2003.
Robert Horner, President of the RFU said, “The report was received and noted and the Council will be fully supporting the planned review of our ticketing procedures as part of the Strategic Plan review, which is being chaired by the CEO Francis Baron.”
A report is expected towards the end of this year. “I must compliment the staff at Twickenham for their handling of the fixture and clarify one important point from the report which has been misreported in the media,” said Robert Horner. “There is no recommended increase of tickets to the clubs from 50% to 60% from the tickets available. The figure of 60% referred to in the report is comprised of tickets allocated to clubs, schools and Constituent Bodies and this is already in place.
“The Students Schools & Youth Review continues to progress and, subject to further consultation with the England Rugby Football Schools Union, will be put to the vote at the April 30th Council meeting.” The following resolution was also passed: the principles of the Constituent Bodies Rugby Development Partnership, key terms of reference and executive and sub-committee structures as outlined in appendix 17 of the appendices document, be approved for implementation with immediate effect with the intention that they be in place for the start of season 2004/05 at the latest. (Appendix 17 refers to the terms of reference and executive committee structure for the Constitient Body Rugby Development Partnership). |
