Anniversary Celebrations

As part of the Old Bedians 50th anniversary celebrations, the club hosted a representative match at its Didsbury ground in Manchester. RFU President Robert Horner was the guest of honour as OB President Des Pastore’s side, comprising players from the Old Bedians, Didsbury Toc H, Burnage and Heaton Moor clubs, took on Lancashire RFU President Frank Morgan’s Select XV, which featured players from clubs throughout Lancashire.

The RFU President also enjoyed a curtain raiser between an Old Bedians Youth Development XV and St Bedes College. The Old Bedians side fittingly won the lively main fixture 22-7, and following the match OB Chairman Greg Whelan formally thanked the RFU President for joining in the celebrations, and the Lancashire President for his efforts in bringing his representative team, which was organised by Alan James.
