Percy Park U11s rugby team were recently celebrating becoming county champions. On their way to the finals they defeated Northern (14-0), Morpeth (36-0) and drew with Tynedale (0-0). In the semi finals, hosted at Alnwick, they defeated the home side 26-0. Scrum half Cameron Taylor scored a hat trick of tries and Tom Lees added a fourth. Successful conversions were made by Jack Jeffrey (2) and Liam McStay (1).
In the final they came up against Gosforth and Percy Park dominated the game with every boy playing his part. Again Cameron Taylor put Percy Park in front in the first half with the conversion made by Jack Jeffrey. In the second half there was no let up and towards the end Jack Dent settled the nerves by scoring a try which was converted by Jack Jeffrey to make the final score 14-0 to Percy Park. The coaches were delighted that Park had not conceded a single try in either the preliminaries or the finals.
