Oxfordshire 17-0 RAF U21
It is not often that a 17-0 defeat is celebrated, but when the young RAF team took on Oxfordshire they were playing last year’s semi-finalists in the Rugby Football Union’s U20 County Championships, and even the Oxfordshire coaching staff thought the score flattered the home county.
The RAF team was highly motivated and the hard work put in by the youth coaches and management saw 35 players involved in this final weekend of the season, an encouraging sign for next year’s U21 campaign.
The RAF senior side recorded their first victory for a number of years beating Essex 31-10 at Southend-on-Sea, before departing for a training camp at Lloret de Mar prior to the commencement of the Inter-Service challenge against the Navy at Plymouth.
