Earlier this month Leicester Tigers hosted the third annual varsity game between DeMontfort University Leicester (DMU) and Leicester University, including for the first time the women’s match.

Last year’s women’s contest was a huge success with DMU beating Leicester University and also smashing the Guiness Book of World Records’ longest ever boat race. For the big match this season, DMU Ladies were training hard. “Our main hope is that this will help raise the profile of the women’s game,” said Nicola Wright, DMU captain.
