Soaring sales of The Eating for England cookbook enabled the Rugby Store at Twickenham to send a cheque for £17,000 to the British Wheelchair Sports Foundation and the Sporting Chance Appeal.
Work has now started on the redevelopment of the National Wheelchair Sports Centre and all involved in the project are excited about the fantastic facilities they will have in the future for wheelchair and disabled sportsmen and women at Stoke Mandeville. It is anticipated that the Centre will reopen in the summer. Said Ruth Dunkin of The Sporting Chance Appeal, “The Eating for England cookbook has been invaluable in helping us reach our target. Many thousands of men, women and children with disabilities will benefit.”
