Nottingham Medoc Casuals have successfully applied to Sportsmatch to run a women’s rugby development programme in the East Midlands. The Sportsmatch application matched £1,215 of the sponsorship income from Medoc Computers Ltd to run the new initiative in the East Midlands and aims to encourage new players to the sport and also develop the game of existing players.
The women’s side of Nottingham Casuals in Beeston has been established for 10 years and recently has seen dynamic growth, with two sides now fielded. The women’s 1st XV are in the top league in the county, competing with the top eight clubs and the 2nd XV play in Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire & Derbyshire Division, so the club is able to cater for the experienced player and the complete beginner.
