An injury suffered whilst involved in rugby could result in the injured person being unable to give his full attention to his usual occupation. The weekly benefit option allows clubs to provide a measure of protection against this.
Operative Time Cover is provided at the same operative time as the Compulsory Scheme. This extension is excluded for professional players because the policy does not recognise the playing of rugby as an occupation.
Benefits A maximum of 8 units can be arranged each for cover of £50 per week (i.e. £400 per week maximum).
The benefit will be paid for the period during which the insured person is unable to carry out any of his normal occupational duties. This is subject to a maximum of 104 weeks after the deferment period of either 6 or 12 weeks is completed and is subject to proof of employment.
Premium The premium payable by the clubs for each team is as follows:
|
Deferment Period |
Premium per unit |
| 6 Weeks |
£100
|
| 12 Weeks |
£75 |
Example: Benefit required £200 per week for 2 teams with a six week deferment period Premium required 2 (teams) x 4 (£50 units) x £100 (premium per unit) = £800 |
