The Rugby Football Union for Women is the governing body for women's rugby in England and run a full international and domestic competition structure. The RFUW is run by an Executive Committee currently headed by the Secretary, Helen Ives, who can be contacted through the RFUW National Headquarters, details below.
Development of girls rugby is ongoing and the RFUW have produced a document called Partnership for Progress as a guideline for the introduction of Junior Girls Rugby.
Junior Girls Rugby is the future of Women's Rugby and it is important that as many girls as possible have the opportunity to try the game in a safe fun environment giving them the opportunity to learn. It is hoped to encourage sides to play games by using the lowest common denominator, for example, going to uncontested scrums, playing 10-a-side in order to make sure the girls have a game.
