Qualified as a Physical Education Specialist in 1982 and taught PE in Cornwall until 2000, leaving the education establishment of Newquay Tretherras school having been Head of Physical Education and Director of Community Sport.

Then moved in to the new role of Active Sports Manager for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and worked closely with a range of NGB officers accessing funds to establish sports programmes for young people, and support volunteer and coach development.

During this time Cornwall became the 'pilot' depot of the SW with community coaches and competition managers being employed to work across the whole partnership area.

Whilst in post in this role I was the catalyst for developing the Active Sports into the Cornwall Sports Partnership and achieved Fit for Purpose status in November 2005.

As a tutor trainer for SCUK /the YST / and England Netball I have a passion to see others realise their potential and have always been focussed on developing the sporting infrastructure of this country, be it with activities for young people or developing the coaching and volunteer infrastructure without which sport would not flourish.

This new role will be a new challenge and one which I will embrace with interest and vigour.
