Role:               

  • To assist England Head Coach in the coaching and development of the senior England squad.
  • To assist England Head Coach in the planning of Team England training and competition programmes towards planned targets.

Graham Smith started playing rugby with the Wolverhampton RFC in 1977 with their colts and moved straight into the 1st XV. He remained with the squad until 1982 when he went to play for the Moseley RFC 1st XV, playing over 250 games. He has played for Staffordshire County (all levels, Captain for the seniors), Midlands division v USA Eagles 1986, England U23’s tour to Spain 1984, Anglo Scots 1988-1992, Scotland B 1989-1991, Scotland A 1990-1991 and the Full Scotland tour to North America 1991.

 

Graham spent 8 years as a YDO and then an RDO for the RFU, and was Academy Assistant Manager for the Worcester England Rugby Academy. Having achieved all of his RFU Coaching Levels, he is now 1 of 10 coaches set to pilot the new Level 5 award. Prior to joining the England Women’s coaching staff, Graham coached Wolverhampton (1994-1995), Stourbridge - National League Four (1995-1999), Moseley - National League One 2000-2002, Worcester U21/U19’s - U21’s Premiership League (2002 & 2004), National U17 development programme (1999-2004) and England U18 Club’s (2002 – 2004).
