How do I join a team?

How do I start up a team?
Before starting a team you should contact your Women's Regional Development Manager (WRDM) and RFUW Regional Administrator and they will be able to advise you on setting up your team. You can also find help by clicking on this link Affiliation Information.

How do I register my club?
Affiliation forms and guidelines on registration and insurance can be found in our website Resources & Downloads section or in the Clubs section of this website. You can also contact the RFUW on 0208 831 7996 to receive an affiliation pack via post. The pack will contain details on affiliation fees and comprehensive insurance for your team (requirements to compete in BUSA).
How do I find matches for my team?
If you are affiliated to the RFUW, a club contacts list will be sent quarterley with latest RFUW Newsletter. You can also contact your RFUW Regional Administrator for advice on who to play, or contact teams local to you by visiting the RFU club-finder .
How do I find the fixtures list for the current season?
Calendars and fixtures lists for the season can be found from the main RFUW page, in our Resources & Downloads or click here to go to the fixture section.
How do I conduct in-season internal player transfers?
A player wishing to leave their present club during a season (1st September – 31st May) must have the internal transfer form signed by the Captain of their present club to certify that they have no outstanding debts owed to the club. Then it must be taken to the new club of their choice to be completed for registration. Once the form has been completed it must be sent to the Competition Director and not RFUW HQ, it must also be accompanied with a cheque for £11 made payable to the RFUW. How do I conduct an International player transfer?
If you intend to play in another union you will need to complete the IRB Application to play in another union form. This must be completed and sent back to the RFUW; once it has been signed a copy will be sent to the transferring player and to the secretary of the proposed new union.
How do I find the results for the women's league games?
Go to the Results page of www.rfu.com. On the left hand side of the page, click on 'Rugby Football Union for Women' under 'League'. To view results, click on 'Entire Season'. On the Results page, you can also find scores for the Women's Six Nations and the RFUW Rugby World National Cup.

How do I find further information on club development?
The RFU has produced a comprehensive document, The A-Z Of Community Rugby. This booklet is designed to provide administrators of varying knowledge and experience with the essential information required to run a successful club.
How do I find development assistance on a local level?
The RFUW has a network of volunteer, part time and full time development officers, based within the Active Sports Partnership who can assist you locally. Your RFU Rugby Development Officer and local authority Sports Development Officer (SDO) may also be able to assist. On a regional level, contact your WRDM or RFUW Regional Administrator .
There may also be a women’s development group based within your county. These groups meet quarterly and aim to develop and promote women’s rugby by working together in partnership. Contact your RFUW Regional Administrator for details on your nearest group.
How do I become a coach?
Contact your local RFU Rugby Development Officer or visit the RFU coaching pages for more information. There you can find a list of coaching courses and useful development tips for coaches. The RFUW also offers coaching bursaries for women annually, which will be advertised on the website and in Touchline.
How do I become a referee?
Information on how to progress through refereeing can be found on the Pathways for Officiating in Rugby Union. There you will also find a list of courses being offered through the Courses Calendar.
How do I arrange a tour?
If you are going on tour outside of the four home nations you will need to complete the Permission to Tour form at least three months before you are due to tour. For rules and regulations regarding tours please refer to the RFUW Handbook. Assistance in organising a tour can be found by downloading the RFU How to Organise a Tour document.
If you are receiving a tour from a team outside of the four home nations you will need to complete the Receiving a Tour form at least three months before you are due to play the touring team.
How do I obtain RFUW merchandise?
We do not currently sell RFUW merchandise. However, The Rugby Store carries RFU stock of women's clothing.
How do I obtain match videos?
We do not sell Team England match videos to the public.
How do I buy tickets?
Ticket sales vary depending on the location at which the match will be held. Most of the women's International matches are held at The Stoop and tickets can be booked via their booking website. For tickets to matches at Twickenham, contacts and information can be found on the RFU website.
How do I gain sports development experience?
Contact a member of the RFUW Development staff who will be able to help you with local, regional and national opportunities for both volunteer and part time paid work. You could also contact your local RFU Rugby Development Officer .
Are there any other courses which could help my club?
Yes, Sport England, the Women’s Sports Foundation and SportsCoach UK among others offer a number of courses on different topics, from Child Protection and Equity, to Running your Club. Contact your regional Sport England Training Unit or visit www.sportengland.org, www.wsf.org.uk or www.sportscoachuk.org for further details.
