U17 Girls Rugby Match Report

Friday evening (24th Sept) saw 35 girls from St Catherine’s school, Richmond RFC, Camberley RFC, Harlequins RFC, and the Stein School Germany meeting at Grasshoppers Rugby Club for a mixed friendly match.

The girls played 15 aside with rolling subs.  The match was played as a training game as both sides consisted of experienced players and those who were new to the game.

The match flowed from end to end, great runs were made, try saving tackles made, several tries were scored and a good team spirit emerged.  Both sides had plenty of possession and the game was ably refereed and coached by Heidi Shelburg.  The match was won by the UK Barbarians and was a good introduction to the season for the players.
